Imported Date Format changeged to wrong Date after changing Date Type

Hi There,

My Data is Saved in "01 Jan 2017" format in a CSV, when i am importing it from a folder it is showing as Text and from Edit Query Window when i am trying to change the date type so that i can summarise them as years or months it is changing to some futerestic dates!!

Is there anything like Excel Text to Column where we get to choose what date type it is? In breif, how do i fix it?
