HI,
Have an interesting problem I'd appreciate others input on as to how they'd solve.
I have a set of records as follows (simplified example for illustration):
Key | Name | Date_of_Start | Date_of_End | Date_of_Birth | Date_of_Visit 1 | Fred | 2012/02/03 | 2014/11/08 | 1990/08/15 | 2012/05/18 1 | Fred | 2012/02/03 | 2014/11/08 | 1990/08/15 | 2013/12/09 2 | Jane | 2013/09/12 | | 1984/12/17 | 2012/10/10 3 | Bill | 2013/01/22 | 2015/12/16 | 1992/02/16 | 2013/11/09
What I need to be able to do on a report page is show various visuals like "Total Number of Visits", "Total Visits by Month", "Distribution of visits by age groups" etc but be able to filter the page by ages and also slice by financial year. The complexity is that the age is a measure (TODAY()-Date_of_Birth) but if the report is sliced by financial years in the past the age is obviously going to be different in those years as different financial years are selected.
So I'm interested in any ideas on how anyone would tackle this problem? Is the only way out building every measure that is going to be visualised on the page with age context?
Cheers,
P.
