Receive Power BI Authentication Error on Launch.
Error:
There was an error deserializing the object of type Microsoft.IdentityModel.Clients.ActiveDirectory.TokenResponse. Encountered unexpected character '<'.
I have Admin permissions and have error on my physical laptop (others have same error) but it is working in my VDI environment. Also, using my same account I can access the Power BI service on the web along with all other O365 apps. We use ADFS for single sign on and password sync.
Microsoft provided the following feedback on a Frown message reply:
Thank you for the feedback! This is an issue we've seen several customers hit. We are working on fixing this and will keep in touch with you if we have a workaround or a fix in the next Desktop update.
Since it indicates that others are having this problem, has anyone discovered a workaround? SInce it works in my VDI environment, there must be workarounds but I cannot discover the difference in the environments. It works until I sign in and a token is stored. Then even after uninstall, I am locked up at launch with the message above and need to kill the app with Program Manager.
